Tobacco Action Coalition of the Finger Lakes
The Tobacco Action Coalition of the Finger Lakes (TACFL) is a community partnership coalition made up of organizations and private citizens who live or work in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties. TACFL is dedicated to reducing the risk of cancer, heart disease and other tobacco related illnesses by lowering the prevalence of tobacco use, advertising, sponsorship and promotion through education, media and advocacy. Our goal is to implement strategies and programs that will decrease the social acceptability of tobacco use.
Funded through a grant from the New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control Program , TACFL is one of 29 community partnerships across New York State dedicated to making each community a healthier place to live, work and play.
TACFL meetings take place the last Thursday of every other month (February, April, June, August, October, and December) from 10am – Noon. Meeting locations change each month and travel throughout the four county region. If you are concerned about how tobacco advertising targets the youth in your community and the impact of second-hand smoke, join the coalition and attend a meeting by contacting the coalition director.
